Bayern with another comfortable win

Bayern with another comfortable win with 3-0 over BIIK-Kazygurt that puts the Bavarians through to the quarter-finals. Aggregate score: FC Bayern München – BIIK-Kazygurt 9-1.

Since the tie was already decided, Bayern’s coach Jens Scheuer rested most of the key players and made 8 changes in the starting line-up. Already in the second minute of the match, Lina Magull scored from the spot after a handball from Gabrielle Denesik. Bayern was clearly dominating on the field and doubled their lead in 35th minute. After an Asseyi corner, Boye pushed the ball over the line at the second post. Five minutes before the half-time whistle, the Bavarians were awarded another penalty but unlike at the beginning of the game, Magull failed to score.

In the 2nd half, Bayern continued to look for a third goal. They managed to do so in the 60th minute after a handball by Stasianne Marie Mallin in the box. Sydney Lohmann was successful from the spot. In the final stage, Linda Dallmann was close to a 4th goal but only hit the post.

Bayern achieved their 21st consecutive win of the season in 21 games and presented themselves as one of the contenders for UEFA Women’s Champions League winner.

“It was a decent game. Of course it’s difficult when you win the first leg 6:1. Of course, you don’t want to risk any injuries in view of the Bundesliga. But despite the circumstances, the team did a great job. Of course we could have scored one or two more goals, but at the end of the day it’s getting through that counts and we did that very well.” – Jens Scheuer, FC Bayern’s head coach
