FC Bayern dominant win over Rosengård, Bayern München – Rosengård, 3-0

Bayern München – Rosengård, 3-0. A dominant performance by Bavarians and well-deserved 3-goal advantage against the Swedish. Goals from Linda Dallmann, Klara Bühl and Lineth Beerensteyn sealed the deal.

1st half

Bayern, cleared favourites, started strong right from the kick-off. Nevertheless, the Rosengard defence was compact and the hosts couldn’t get through. But after a solo run, Linda Dallmann hit the bottom left corner of Stephanie Labbe’s goal and scored the opener. But despite Bayern being the more dangerous team, the guests managed to threaten via Canković’s cross from the right that evaded everybody in a crowded penalty area. On the other side, Bundesliga leaders kept their efficiency and scored the 2nd goal with 3rd shot overall. After Rosengard’s corner kick, Dallmann took the ball and initiated a counterattack with Lineth Beerensteyn. Klara Bühl finished via the base of the post to double the lead. Two classy finishes have given Bayern a comfortable lead at the half-time.

2nd half

In the second half, Bayern still wanted more goals. Shortly after the restart, Beerensteyn had a great chance of scoring the third goal, but Labbe was there and kept the Swedes in the game. The Dutch international finished better in the 65th minute, when she prevailed against several defenders in the penalty area and push the rebound into the goal to make it 3-0. But Rosengård wanted at least consolation goal and started pressuring more. They came close to scoring in the 85th minute but Benkarth saved Sanne Troelsgaard’s shot.

A convincing Bayern’s performance who extended their run to 24 victories across all competitions. On the other hand, Rosengård had their moments, but were unable to take the opportunities that came along to grab a vital away goal and will have a mountain to climb in the return leg.

Reactions

“Of course it’s a strong result but we also know that we’ve only taken the first step. I think the second leg in Malmö will be a completely different game. Our opponents proved tonight why they are in the quarter-finals. They pushed us hard.” – Jens Scheuer, FC Bayern’s head coach
