FC Bayern with one foot in the quarter-finals of UWCL after a big, 1-6 win against BIIK Kazygurt in Kazakhstan.
The Bavarians, who had to make the longest trip out of all the teams, faced Kazahstan’s champions in the last 16 stage again, after they knocked them out already in the previous season. Despite 6000km trip and 5 hour time difference, Bayern started strong and got in the lead after Lineth Beerensteyn won the one-on-one duel against Oksana Zheleznyak. Lea Schüller headed the Rudelić’s cross in, to make it 0-2.

Reactions
“Of course I am very satisfied with the result. Before the game we had the goal of winning the game by three goals, that would have already been huge for me. Now we’ve scored six, the girls did a great job. We played great football, especially in the second half, and laid the foundations for the second leg.” – Jens Scheuer, Bayern’s Head coach
