Women’s Champions League: Exciting ties in the quarter-final

Women’s Champions League Last 8 draw took place today and we got some very exciting ties to look forward to.

Women’s Champions League quarter-finals

Holders Barcelona will face their their domestic rivals, Real Madrid, in El Classico. Blaugrana will play the first game at home.

Italian champions, Juventus, will face the most successful women’s team, Olympique Lyon, who will for sure try to improve their last year’s result, when they got knocked-out in the quarter-final.

FC Bayern München will host French champions, Paris Saint-Germain, in the first leg. Both teams are still chasing their first European success.

The only remaining English team, Arsenal, will face Vfl Wolfsburg in the Women’s Champions League quarter-finals.

Barcelona – Real Madrid

Juventus – Olympique Lyon

FC Bayern München – Paris Saint Germain

Arsenal – Vfl Wolfsburg

Women’s Champions League semi-finals

The semi-final draw has also been made. Winner from the FC Bayern – PSG tie will face the winner of Juventus – Lyon pair, with a potential replay of the last-year’s semi-final between Lyon and PSG.

The second semi-final will consist of the winner of El Classico between Barcelona and Real Madrid, against winner of Arsenal and Wolfsburg tie.

Barcelona/Real Madrid – Arsenal/Vfl Wolfsburg

Juventus/Olympique Lyon – FC Bayern München/Paris Saint Germain

The so-called away goals rule has been removed, so ties level after 180 minutes in the quarter-finals or semi-finals will go to extra time irrespective of the number of goals each team has scored home and away. If the teams still cannot be separated after the additional 30 minutes then it goes to a penalty shoot-out.
