Ellie Carpenter extends with Lyon and will stay with the Women’s Champions League winners for four more years, until June 2026.
The 22-year-old arrived to France in 2020 from the US side, Portland Thorns. With experience also from her native Australian league, Carpenter soon became an irreplaceable part of the team, making 53 appearances since her arrival. The Australian international with 59 caps torn a cruciate ligament during a Women’s Champions League final against Barcelona and is currently in rehab.
“I am very honoured to extend my contract at this magnificent club. I have learned a lot in these first two years, and now I am here until 2026! I am injured at the moment but I am working hard to get back on the pitch and win titles again,” said Carpenter, who joins Wendie Renard, who also extended her contract.

At the same time, Kysha Sylla also extended her contract with the club and will stay with Lyon at least until June 2025.
The 18-year-old signed her first professional contract, that ran until 2024, last year. The talented French defender, who already debuted in D1 Arkema league, is a regular in the youth French national teams.
