Frédéric Mendy leaves Montpellier post

Frédéric Mendy leaves Montpellier post after a mutual agreement with the club’s board.

The 47-year-old coach took the charge in 2019. In his first season, he managed to finish 4th in the Division 1 Feminine. Montpellier, in the past considered as a 3rd French team behind Lyon and PSG, are currently on 5th place in the D1 Arkema standings with the same amount of points as 4th placed EA Guingamp. On the other hand, teams are very condensed in the mid-table, meaning Montpellier are only 5 points ahead of 9th place.

Baptiste Merle and John Utaka, together with sports director Jean-Louis Saez will take charge of the team until the end of the season.
