Jackie Groenen moves to Paris Saint Germain

Jackie Groenen moves to Paris Saint Germain from Manchester United. She signed a three-year deal that will keep her in the club until June 2025.

The 27-year-old left her homeland of the Netherlands very early and started her senior career in Germany with Essen and Duisburg. Later, she experienced the Women’s Super League, when she spent a season with Chelsea. The Dutch midfielder returned to Germany and spent four seasons with Frankfurt. In 2019, Groenen signed for Manchester United, for which she made 50 appearances. The Dutch international with 92 caps will play in D1 Arkema for the first time in her career.

“I’m very excited to be here. It’s a big change, a big step for my career. I’m very happy to be a Parisian, to finally be here in Paris. My first impressions are very good. Everyone is so nice to me. I’ve already met most of the girls, and they all seem lovely. I’m very excited to be here in one of the biggest clubs in the world,” said Groenen.

Parisians also announced that Yang Lina will spend the next season in the French capital on loan from a Chinese side, Shanghai Shengli. This is the first professional experience in Europe for the 28-year-old Chinese midfielder. PSG also signed Berglind Thorvalsdottir, Marina Georgieva, Lydia Williams and Oriane Jean-François recently.
