Janice Cayman pens new deal with Lyon

Janice Cayman pens new deal with Lyon that will keep her in the club until June 2023.

The 32-year-old arrived to Olympique Lyon in 2019. Before that, she debuted in Division 1 Feminine in Juvisy’s (today Paris FC) shirt and later moved to Montpellier. In her professional career, she has played more than 300 matches. She became NWSL champion with the New York Flash in 2016 and won the Belgian’s Golden Shoe for the best player of the year in 2017. With Lyon, she won the treble in 2020. Cayman became the most capped player for the Belgian national team with 111 appearances just a few days ago.

“I am very happy and proud to continue this beautiful adventure with OL. I’ve already won a few titles here, and I hope to win more over the next two years. We have six games, six finals to play in the French championship, and I hope to win this trophy again,” Cayman said.

To add to that, Lyon’s player Sara Björk Gunnarsdottir announced her pregnancy today. Gunnarsdottir, who has a contract with Lyon until 2022, has already left France to join family in Iceland. She is expected to have the baby in November.
