Johanna Elsig joins Montpellier

Johanna Elsig joins Montpellier from a German side, Turbine Potsdam, where she spent the last 10 seasons.

The 28-year-old started her senior career with Bayer Leverkusen, but left the Werkself after three years and moved to Turbine Potsdam in 2012. Since then, she made almost 200 appearances in Frauen Bundesliga. 15-time German international decided for her first move abroad in the next season. An experienced defender was brought to the squad to mentor and help younger players, Montpellier’s president said.

“I have a good feeling. The city is very nice, I am happy to sign here, and I hope we will have a good season,” added Elsig.
