Lieke Martens moves to Paris Saint Germain from FC Barcelona. She signed a contract until June 2025.
The 29-year-old started her senior career with Heerenveen. After leaving her native Netherlands, she then moved on to Standard Liege followed by Duisburg in Germany before making a move to Sweden, where she played for Rosengard and Göteborg. In 2017, the Dutch striker joined Barcelona, with whom she won her first Champions League and made a total of 100 appearances. Martens, who has 133 caps and 54 goals for the Dutch national team, was voted UEFA and FIFA Women’s Footballer of the Year in 2017.
“I have always followed and loved this club. It’s a team that has performed well in recent years, as you can see from its results on the national and European stage. Paris Saint-Germain can achieve great things,” said Martens.
