Lisa Schmitz and Maëlys Mpome extend with Montpellier. The club did not provide any information about the duration.
The German goalkeeper arrived in Montpellier in 2019 and quickly established herself as a first choice between the posts. The 28-year-old is the first German player in the history of the club and has so far played 18 games for the 5th placed team in Division 1 Feminine. At the moment, she is sidelined due to thigh injury.
“I am very happy to sign a contract extension with Montpellier. It’s really a great opportunity for me,” she said. I really like this club which really supports its women’s section. I am convinced that we can win titles in the next two years, and we will do everything for it,” said Schmitz.

Maëlys Mpome arrived last summer from Saint-Maur last summer as one of the most talented defenders in French football. It didn’t take long, for the 18-year-old to become an important player in Montpellier’s rotation.
“I am very happy to extend my contract with Montpellier. I really appreciate everything that I was offered since my arrival, and I am really happy to continue this adventure,” Mpome added.
