Sarah Bouhaddi transfers to Paris Saint-Germain from a league rivals, Olympique Lyon. She signed a contract until the end of the season.
The 35-year-old, who was voted best goalkeeper in the world four times, spent majority of her career with Lyon, where she played over 300 matches. The experienced goalkeeper has been number one choice between the post in the national team since 2012 and made almost 150 appearances for France. With Lyon, Bouhaddi won 12 D1 Arkema titles and 8 Women’s Champions League titles. PSG also signed Jackie Groenen, Berglind Thorvalsdottir, Marina Georgieva, Lydia Williams and Oriane Jean-François recently.
“I am very happy. It may surprise a lot of people. But I’m very happy to be here, to be part of an ambitious club both in the French league and in Europe. I’m very happy to be able to be part of this project. I’m really looking forward to it. I can’t wait to start and when the coach gives me my chance, I can’t wait to wear this shirt,” said Bouhaddi.
