Wendie Renard pens a new deal with Lyon that will keep her in the club for four more years, until June 2026.
The 31-year-old is one of the most loyal players in the European football. She joined the club back in 2006, when she left her native Martinique and arrived to France. French defender has played 419 matches for the club and won 31 titles, including 7 Women’s Champions League titles. Recently, she has become the first player to reach 100 Women’s Champions League games. One of the best centre-backs in the world has also played over 130 matches for the French national team.
“I am very happy that the story continues. A beautiful story that began many years ago. As I often say, I will give the best of myself so that we can stay on top. We have to keep working. If we collectively give ourselves the means to go for titles, I know that we have the qualities to achieve this,” said Renard for the club’s website.
