Yannick Chandioux takes over Montpellier at the start of the next season after Frédéric Mendy left the post a few weeks ago.
The 45-year-old still had a 2-year contract with Dijon FC. But as Dijon’s president, Olivier Delcourt, said, Montpellier offered Chandioux an ambitious project and the sides parted ways with a mutual agreement. Yannick Chandioux was in the club since 2017 and will probably finish on the 8th place in the D1 Arkema league. Montpellier, that is currently led by Baptiste Merle and John Utaka after a departure of Frédéric Mendy, is currently sitting just 4 points ahead of Dijon on 7th place.
“First of all, I would like to thank Olivier Delcourt and all the members of the club with whom I was able to work to help the women’s section progress. Today, the DFCO is settled in the D1 and the foundations have been laid in terms of training. Montpellier, a historic club in French women’s football, is offering me an interesting challenge with high objectives, such as a return to the Champions League. A great project awaits me,” said Chandioux.
