SC Sand presented first January addition. Adrienne Jordan will strengthen the Frauen Bundesliga side from Granadilla. The German-American defender made her first appearance last week in a friendly match against TSG Hoffenheim, where she impressed coach Nora Häuptle enough to earn the contract.
26-year-old started her senior career at Chicago Red Stars in January 2016, but left for Europe later that year, signing a professional contract with Östersunds Damfotballförening (ÖDFF) in Sweden. Then she played for clubs in Iceland, Italy and England until she joined the Tenerife based team last year. She performed on 8 matches for Granadilla.

On the other side, the Sand’s captain and Irish international, Diane Caldwell, will leave the club at her own request. She wants to take another challenge and will become a player of North Carolina Courage in the NSWL. The defender has played in Ortenau since her move from 1. FC Köln in the summer of 2016 and made 107 competitive appearances for the club.
I would like to thank SC Sand for a wonderful four and a half years full of wonderful moments, especially for the historic Cup Final in 2017. Sand quickly became my home for me, especially because of all the great teammates, the great fans and the heartwarming community. I thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for the love they have shown me. My heart will forever be blue and white,” Caldwell said.
