Alexandra Popp extends with Wolfsburg and will stay with the German champions for three more years, until June 2025.
The 31-year-old has been with the Wolves since 2012 and is the only player involved in all Wolfsburg’s titles still in the squad. The German striker, who played 119 matches for the German national team, joined Wolfsburg 10 years ago from Duisburg. A true club’s legend, Popp made over 260 appearances for the club across all competitions and won 18 national and three international titles. The Wolves already renewed with a lot of important players, including Lena Oberdorf, Pia-Sophie Wolter, Ewa Pajor, Lena Lattwein, Tabea Waßmuth and Felicitas Rauch.
“I am very happy about the appreciation and feel extremely comfortable at VfL Wolfsburg. When I look back on the last few years, I am simply with the best club in Germany. Likewise, I see outstanding quality in our team and it’s great fun for me to perform on and off the pitch with these girls and fight for more titles,” said Popp.
