FC Köln are actively squadplanning for the next season. Anna Gerhardt joins the club, while Laura Donhauser and Lena Uebach extend their stay. At the same time, Mandy Islacker announced her retirement from professional football.
Anna Gerhardt made first steps in senior football as Köln player before moving to FC Bayern München. After failing to secure regular playing time, the German defender signed for Turbine Potsdam in 2019. After Turbine’s relegation in the current season, the 25-year-old found a new club to keep playing in Frauen Bundesliga, signing a 2-year contract.
Similarly, Lena Uebach joined Köln from Turbine as well but already during last summer. The 22-year-old forward made a total of 19 appearances, mostly as a substitute. She penned a deal until the end of the season.
The 21-year-old Laura Donhauser had more regular playing time, making a total of 38 appearances since her arrival from FC Bayern two seasons ago. The German defender extended her stay in Cologne until 2025.
Furthermore, Mandy Islacker announced her retirement following the end of the season. Köln’s captain, who won the Olympic gold medal with German national team, played for Duisburg, Essen, Cloppenburg, FC Bayern, and Frankfurt throughout her career. In total. the 34-year-old forward played 282 matches and scored 146 goals in Frauen Bundesliga.
