Freiburg appoints Theresa Mark as the new coach for the next season, after Daniel Kraus decided to leave the club at the end of the season.
The 32-year-old will join Freiburg from a Swiss club, Grasshoppers. The club, that plays in the elite tier of the Swiss women’s football, is the first experience as a head coach for Mark. Previously, she also worked as co-coach at VfL Wolfsburg. Grasshoppers are currently sitting on the third place in the Swiss Women’s Super League. Daniel Kraus will move to Vfl Wolfsburg after the season, where he will take over the U-20 team.
“For me, it was quickly clear after the talks that I would like to take on the task as head coach of SC. There has always been a regional connection to Freiburg, the club stands for good and sustainable work. The image of this down-to-earth club matches my football values,” says Theresa Merk herself
