Head coach Anne Pochert is leaving Carl Zeiss Jena at the end of the season. The German coach decided not to accept contract extension offered by the club.
The 36-year-old has been part of the club for the last 18 years. Still s a player, Pochert joined Jena in 2004. Later she coached various junior women’s teams and acted as the club’s head of youth development. In 2020, she was appointed as a head coach and managed to secure the promotion to Frauen Bundesliga. But in the current season, Carl Zeiss Jena achieved only one win and will play in 2. Bundesliga in the next season. Who will be in charge in the next season is yet to be announced.
“I have now been able to experience and help shape the development of Jena women’s soccer for 18 years. During these years, I had many intense experiences that I look back on with pride, such as our promotion last summer. Nevertheless, after careful consideration and analysis of the situation in recent weeks and months, I have decided to leave FC Carl Zeiss Jena,” said Pochert.
