Head coach Daniel Kraus will leave Freiburg at the end of the season

Head coach Daniel Kraus will leave Freiburg at the end of the season, the club announced today.

The 37-year-old took over Freiburg in 2019. He led the team to the 7th place finish in Frauen Bundesliga and semi-finals of the DFB cup. Previously, former goalkeeper also coached Carl Zeiss-Jena for 6 years and SGS Essen. In the second half of the season, Freiburg will try to improve that result, currently sitting on the 8th place in the elite level of German Women’s football.

“We have thought about the future together. I have three very intensive years behind me here in Freiburg and would like to take on a new challenge in football from the coming season. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my team, the people in charge and the club for the trusting cooperation. I will look back on this time with pleasure,” said Kraus for the club’s website.
