Ivana Rudelić adds another year to Bayern’s contract that was expiring at the end of the season. She will stay in Bavaria at least until June 2023.
The 29-year-old returned to the club in January from Bayer Leverkusen, but after a few matches suffered a cruciate ligament rupture and is still in the rehab. Rudelić, who chose to play in Croatian national team, despite having also German passport, played for Bayern between 2008 and 2014 before leaving for USV Jena. In 2018, she signed for Bayer Leverkusen but returned to Bayern after three seasons with Pharmacists. The striker made 88 appearances for the club so far.
“Karin Danner and Bianca Rech approached me and signalled that I should take the time I need to return to the pitch stronger. I am very happy about the extension. My goals with Bayern are to win as many titles as possible and also to be fit again when I’m needed to help the team and FC Bayern,” said Rudelić.
