Ivana Rudelić returns to FC Bayern Frauen

FC Bayern Frauen have signed Ivana Rudelić from Bayer 04 Leverkusen. The 28-year-old returns to Muncih where she already played from 2008 to 2014. In her previous spell with Bayern she scored 17 goals.

“I was immediately welcomed so warmly, as if I had only done a semester abroad.”

The Croatian international has 168 appearances in Frauen Bundesliga. Her biggest success is winning 2012 DFB cup final where she scored the decisive 2-0 winner. ,”I’m very happy and just now I can’t believe it 100 percent that I’m back here at FC Bayern. Something better could not happen to me. Since my time at Bayern, a lot has changed, of course, with the conditions here on campus, the pitch conditions, the athletics and physio facilities, with the team behind the team. Everything has developed enormously,” Ivana said. “But what has remained the same is that Bayern still has the same character. Here you are one big family and I was immediately welcomed so warmly, as if I had come back to the family, as if I had only done a semester abroad,” the striker with 78 competitive games for Bayern added.

“With Ivana, we get a very flexible and fast offensive player who has already worn the FC Bayern jersey for six years. Ivana still knows some players from the past and will certainly be able to integrate quickly into the team,” Bianca Rech, FC Bayern Women’s sporting Director, was pleased with the signing. “In view of the intensive weeks ahead and the tight personnel situation in the offense, it was important to give us a broader base here,” added Rech, having in mind the injuries of Jovana Damnjanović, Viviane Asseyi and Giulia Gwinn.

Jens Scheuer, head coach of FC Bayern Women, is also pleased about the offensive reinforcement: “We are very happy that the signing of Ivana has worked out. She is an asset to our offense and a very flexible striker. That gives us more options again because of our current absences,” said the head coach.
