The 35-year-old Wolfsburg player decided that she has had enough and will hang up the boots in the summer. Before joining Wolfsburg, she was a winner of UEFA Women’s Champions league twice with Lyon. In her 6 years with one of the best teams in Europe, she has also won Division 1 Feminine 7 times. Already in August 2019, Swiss international ended her career with the national team – with the record number of caps and goals. She was also voted Swiss women’s footballer of the Year a total of eight times.

“I am very grateful for the last six years that I have been able to spend at VfL. It was my dream to play in the Bundesliga. And VfL fulfilled that for me. I’ve always felt very comfortable and welcome at Wolfsburg, with all of the values ​​that it represents, and in the city. Wolfsburg has become my home. I would especially like to thank the fans who have always stood behind me and supported me – especially during my injury break. I and the whole team miss them very much right now,” said Dickenmann.
