The current German champions, Vfl Wolfsburg, have strengthened their squad with Lena Lattwein from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. The 20-year-old midfielder will transfer as a free agent and sign contract until June 30, 2024.
“Wolfsburg is one of the absolute top clubs in Europe”
– Lena Lattwein
Lattwein made her debut as a 16-year-old for 1. FC Saarbrücken in the 2nd Women’s Bundesliga. After moving to TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in 2017, she made her first appearance in the Frauen-Bundesliga. Lattwein has 62 games in Germany’s top division and ten games in the DFB Cup. In November 2018, she also made her debut for the German national team, for which she has made nine appearances so far.
“Of course I’m honored that VfL Wolfsburg has made an effort to sign me,” Lattwein said. “Wolfsburg is one of the absolute top clubs in Europe with very high individual quality. I was able to take my first steps in the Women’s Bundesliga at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, where I matured as a person and a player, and I am now looking forward to the new challenge that awaits me from the summer. VfL gives me the opportunity to learn from very good players, to develop at a very high level and, of course, to play internationally.”
