Maike Berentzen transfers to SGS Essen

Maike Berentzen transfers to SGS Essen after the season from SV Meppen. She pens a deal until 2024.

The 24-year-old has played for SV Meppen since 2011 and has more than 100 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga. The German forward was one of the key players in Meppen’s promotion last year, scoring 7 goals. In the debut season in the Frauen Bundesliga, she has played all 18 games and scored four goals. Meppen is currently sitting 10th, 2 points ahead of relegation places.

“After ten great and successful years at SV Meppen, the decision to leave the club was of course not an easy one for me. However, I see very good prerequisites here to combine football and studies and to develop personally and athletically. I am already looking forward to the new challenge at SGS and hope that my strengths will bring me to the team,” Maike Berentzen said.
