The 24-year-old Kiel native spent the majority of her senior career with Vfl Wolfsburg. After over 100 appearances for the Wolves second team, the German defender moved to SC Sand in order to play in Frauen Bundesliga. Brandenburg, who captained Sand’s team in the last season, made a total of 60 appearances in Frauen Bundesliga up to date. Saskia Matheis, Lena Treindl and Hannah Etzold have already joined Werder in the current transfer window.

“I know some of the players in the squad who have told me a lot of good things about the club. In addition, the club was very interested from the start and the plans they told me sounded good. So the decision was very easy for me,” said Brandenburg.
