SV Meppen has introduced two newcomers today. has strengthened its squad with Lisa Josten and Athanasia Moraitou. The two new players should give the SVM further variation possibilities.
The 28-year-old Lisa Josten is an experienced player that has experience 148 games in Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga. She recently took a break but previously worn a shirt of SV Werder Bremen, BV Cloppenburg and VfL Bochum.
“Lisa can operate in the center and on the outside positions and will give us more flexibility in our offensive alignment,” said Meppen’s sporting director Maria Reisinger.
Athanasia Moraitou is 23-year-old international that has played 26 matches for the Greek national team. Despite her age, she already has an experience of 106 games in senior level where she played for Sindelfingen and BV Cloppenburg. The Greek joins Meppen from the University of South Alabama.
“Athanasia is a great midfield player. She is able to play the deadly passes and posses a threat for opponent’s defence. We are looking to bring players that can help us immedietaly,” said coach Theo Dedes.
