Riola Xhemaili transfers to SC Freiburg

Riola Xhemaili transfers to SC Freiburg at the end of the season from FC Basel.

The 18-year-old has played on 25 games for the Swiss team and scored eleven goals. Xhemaili, a standard international for U17 and U19, also debuted in the Swiss senior national team last September.

“I am really looking forward to SC Freiburg and the new challenge. I want to prove myself in Freiburg and Germany. The people in charge at SC Freiburg have made a lot of effort to find me and have given me a very good feeling,” said Xhemaili.

Meanwhile, Naomi Mégroz is returning to Switzerland, to her former club FC Zürich. She played 28 matches and scored five goals for SC Freiburg since her arrival in 2019.
