Riola Xhemaili transfers to Wolfsburg

Riola Xhemaili transfers to Wolfsburg in the summer from Bundesliga rivals, SC Freiburg. She signed a contract until June 2026.

The 20-year-old started her career in Switzerland with FC Basel. In 2021, she moved to Germany, signing with Freiburg. The Swiss midfielder played 40 matches for Freiburg across all competitions. One of the biggest talents in Frauen Bundesliga joins Wolfsburg on a free transfer following her contract expiration. Xhemaili is also a regular in the Swiss national team with 20 caps on her tally.
