Saskia Matheis moves to Werder Bremen

Saskia Matheis moves to Werder Bremen from Eintracht Frankfurt for the next season.

The 25-year-old has spent her whole career in Frankfurt, where she arrived to when she was 10. She played in all youth teams, making her way up to the senior team, where she debuted in the 2015/16 season. In total, the German midfielder has 42 appearances and 1 goal on her Frauen Bundesliga tally. Matheis’ arrival is third signing for Werder in the current transfer window, after Lena Treindl and Hannah Etzold.

“I can absolutely identify with attributes such as traditional and familiar, which have a high value at SV Werder. In addition, the talks with all the people in charge were very positive right from the start, which is why I will certainly feel very well taken care of here. After many years in Frankfurt, I’m looking forward to the new chapter and can’t wait to be on the pitch with the team,” said Matheis.
