Stina Johannes joins Eintracht Frankfurt at the end of the season. Prior to that, she will play in Japan Kōbe Leonessa after leaving SGS Essen.
The 22-year-old has been part of Essen since 2018. Last year, the German goalkeeper suffered a back injury, thus missed the first half of the season. She has returned recently but in order to gain more match practice, she will spend the rest of the season in Japan with Köbe, before joining Frankfurt in the summer. She signed a three-year deal with the team, who is actively planning the squad for the next season. Lara Prašnikar, Shekiera Martinez and Geraldine Reuteleraf are just some players that recently extended their contracts. Last year, the talented goalkeeper has also been called up to the German national team for the first time.
“Eintracht Frankfurt is an attractive club with huge potential. We have all been able to see the development over the past few years. I see the possibility of playing internationally in the Champions League in Frankfurt in the next few years,” said Johannes.
