Four days after the signing of Lena Lattwein from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, her teammate Tabea Waßmuth has also signed a contract with Vfl Wolfsburg Frauen until June 30, 2024. The 24-year-old attacking player moves current German champions on a free transfer.
“it fills me with pride to then wear the jersey of one of the best clubs in Europe”
– Tabea Waßmuth
Waßmuth has played for Hoffenheim since 2008, when she started her football career as a 12-year-old. She made her way through younger selection and debuted in Frauen Bundesliga in February 2015. So far, she has 86 Bundesliga and 11 DFB pokal appearances. The 24-year-old also debuted in German national team last year against Montenegro. She scored the brace against Ireland.
“I am very happy to be able to play for VfL Wolfsburg from next season onwards and it fills me with pride to then wear the jersey of one of the best clubs in Europe,” said Waßmuth. “I’m already looking forward to this new challenge and I’ll give everything to help VfL achieve its goals. First, however, I will do everything I can to finish the current season successfully with TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. Many thanks to the TSG officials for many years we’ve spent together and for making it possible for me to develop step by step.”
