Wolfsburg extend with head coach Tommy Stroot

Wolfsburg extend with head coach Tommy Stroot, who will stay in charge of the Wolves for at least three more seasons.

The 33-year-old took over Wolfsburg last year, succeeding Stephan Lerch. Former SV Meppen and FC Twente coach returned the Frauen Bundesliga title to Wolfsburg in the current season and reach the semi-finals of the Women’s Champions League, where Wolves were defeated by Barcelona. Wolfsburg will also face Turbine Potsdam in the DFB Pokal final on Saturday.

“I see this contract extension primarily as an endorsement of the good cooperation with the players, my coaching team and all other staff. On the one hand it’s a vote of confidence in our work, which underlines that we as a team, but also every individual player, have made great progress,” added Stroot.
