Wolfsburg sign Jill Roord from Arsenal. The 24-year-old has signed a contract with 6-time German champions until June 2024.

The Dutch central midfielder already has experience from Frauen Bundesliga. She played for FC Bayern München before joining Arsenal in 2019 where she stayed for the last two years. She started her senior career in Twente, where she played under the future Wolfsburg coach, Tommy Stroot. Dutch international has 62 caps for Oranje, with whom she won European Championship in 2017 and became runner-up in World Cup.

“I am very proud and very happy to be able to wear the jersey of VfL Wolfsburg from the summer onwards. From my point of view, this is exactly the right step to develop myself personally. Of course, I also want to contribute to us winning titles and being successful as a team,” Roord said.

Wolfsburg is determined to strengthen the team for the upcoming season. Roord is another important addition to the team after Lena Lattwein, Tabea Waßmuth, Sandra Starke and Lynn Wilms.
