Wolfsburg will not extend contract with Lena Goeßling who will leave the club after 10 years.
This was confirmed by Wolfsburg sporting director Ralf Kellermann. Wolfsburg is planning to restructure and give a chance to younger players. “There will be a big upheaval. We will rejuvenate ourselves extremely,” Kellermann added.

Goeßling shared on her social media that she would have liked to stay with the German champions and finish her career there but she wasn’t offered a new contract. The 34-year-old was a key player in all Wolfsburg titles, including 6 Bundesliga wins, 7 DFB Cup victories and two Champions League triumphs with the team from Lower Saxony. There is speculation that Eintracht Frankfurt are interested in the 104-time international.
Apart from Goeßling, also Ingrid Engen and Fridolina Rolfö, turned down offers to extend their contracts and will leave VfL at the end of the season. They turned down offers to extend their contracts.
