Hanna Bennison crowned as the best wonderkid, born on or after January 1st, 2002. Bennison came first, in front of Nikita Tromp and Alison Gonzalez, after Goal.com journalists’ voting.
NXGN 2021 is a competition, where journalists from across Goal.com’s 44 editions vote on the most talented and promising young players. The competition was first introduced last year, when Lena Oberdorf was declared as the best wonderkid.
Hanna Bennison debuted for Rosengard as a 15-year-old, becoming a regular in midfield the following year as the club won the Damallsvenskan title. Her performances with a wonderful technique and an eye for goal, got her a National team debut in November 2019. She also got her first Champions League goal in December and were only knocked out of competition in quarter-final after a defeat against FC Bayern München.

“It feels so good. It was nothing that I had expected, so I’m very happy and grateful,” Bennison told Goal.com upon accepting the award.
Ajax’s forward Nikita Tromp comes in on a 2nd place, following her new record for the most goals in UEFA Women’s U-17 EURO, improving the previous record, set by one of the best strikers in the women’s game, Vivianne Miedema. Mexican Alison Gonzalez is on the 3rd place. Playing for the Mexican side Atlas, she netted her 50th senior goal just before her 19th birthday.
