UEFA announced referee teams for the upcoming EURO 2020. As a support match official, Stéphanie Frappart will become the first female referee at EURO.
Frappart, who is moving boundaries for women in football, will act as a support match official at EURO. That means she will participate either as a fourth official or reserve assistant referee. The 37-year-old French became the first woman to officiate in a major men’s European match, UEFA Super Cup between Liverpool and Chelsea in 2019. She became a first female to referee UEFA Champions Leage game, between Juventus and Dynamo Kyiv.
