Ainoa Campo and Estefanía Lima renew with Villarreal

Ainoa Campo and Estefanía Lima renew with Villarreal CF and will stay with the club at least until the end of the next season.

The 25-year-old Campo joined Villarreal before the season from Deportivo La Coruna. Former Atletico Madrid player made 23 appearances in the recently finished season. The Spanish midfielder is another in line of Villarreal renewals, joining Pancha Lara, Paola Soldevila, Nerea Pérez, Cienfu, Belén Martínez, Yeni Giménez, Elena de Toro, Irene Miguélez and Vera Rico have all already renewed their contracts.

“I am very happy at Villarreal. You have to keep growing where you are happy and I am happy here. I want to keep Villarreal for many more years in Liga Iberdrola,” added Campo.

The 33-year-old Lima spent most of her career with Santa Teresa CD. After Badajoz club got relegated from Liga Ibedrola, the Spanish midfielder joined Villarreal before the season to keep playing on the highest level of the Spanish women’s football. In the last season, Lima played 26 matches and scored two goals.

“I’m super excited that #Villarreal have given me the opportunity to stay here. They have given me back the illusion of playing football. I will be eternally grateful to the club for the opportunity they are giving me,” said Lima, who signed a contract until the end of the next season, with an option for an additional year.
