After Mapi Leon and Marta Torrejon, Asisat Oshoala also extends with Barcelona. She signed a new 2-year deal as well.
The 27-year-old’s contract was expiring at the end of the season, but the Nigerian forward, who arrived to Barcelona in 2019, decided to renew it. Oshoala debuted in European football back in 2015, when she played for Liverpool. After a brief spell with Arsenal, she moved to China for two years before making a switch to Blaugrana. In 101 official matches for Barcelona, she has scored 80 goals, which makes her the sixth-highest scorer in the club’s history. Oshoala is also currently leading top goalscorer standing in Liga Iberdrola with 19 goals.
“I am very happy to still be in the best team in the world. Not only because of their football, because you look off the pitch and it’s also because of how they treat the players to keep improving,” said Oshoala.
