Bénédicte Simon transfers to Atletico Madrid after the club reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain.
The 24-year-old started her senior career with FC Aurillac but soon moved to Stade Reims, where she played in the French top division. After more than 80 appearances across four seasons with “Les rouges et blancs”, she moved to PSG last year. After just 8 appearances in the last season, the French right-back looked to change the environment.
“I’m very happy to be joining this great club and to take on this new challenge. I can’t wait to start training with the team. I want to meet the fans and I want to feel their support throughout the season. They are a very important part for us,” said Simon.
Simon is already Atletico’s eight addition in the current transfer window. Lola Gallardo, Bárbara Latorre, Amanda Frisbie, Maitane Lopez, Sheila Garcia and Thembi Kgatlana are among Rojablancas new faces.
