Cienfu pens a new deal with Villarreal that will keep her in the club until June 2023.
The 21-year-old María Cienfuegos joined Yellow Submarine in 2020 from Real Oviedo. The talented midfielder helped Villarreal get promoted to Liga Iberdrola. During her debut season in the top flight of the Spanish women’s football, Cienfu played 29 matches. She is another Villarreal player to extend contract, following Belén Martínez, Yeni Giménez, Elena de Toro, Irene Miguélez and Vera Rico
“I am very grateful to Villarreal because they have given me an opportunity to play in Liga Iberdrola. I am very proud to play in this shirt, because it is like a second home,” added Cienfu.
