Cristina Cubedo moves to Villarreal from Granadilla Tenerife. She signed a two-year contract that will keep her in the club until June 2024.
The 22-year-old returns to the club, where she was formed and debuted on a senior level. In 2017, the Spanish defender left the Yellow Submarine and joined Valencia. In four years, Cubedo played over 70 matches across all competitions. Last year, she joined Granadillla, for whom she made 27 appearances in the last season. Maria Llompart, Rocio Garcia, Fatou Kanteh and Lucia Gomez have already signed for Villarreal in the current transfer window.
“I am very excited to return home. It was my childhood dream to play one day in Liga Iberdrola for Villarreal. And I think you cannot miss the opportunity like that,” said Cubedo.
