Elena de Toro renews with Villarreal and will stay with the club for at least two more years, until June 2024.
The 25-year-old joined Villarreal in 2020 after having previously spent 6 years with Fundacion Albacete in the second Spanish league. Establishing herself as a number one between the post, de Toro helped the Yellow Submarine to get promoted to Liga Iberdrola. In total, the Spanish goalkeeper made 48 appearances for the club. The club has also renewed contracts with Irene Miguélez and Vera Rico recently.
“Since I arrived to Villarreal I felt at home. And you have to stay where you are happy. I have recovered my enthusiasm for football, thanks to Villarreal,” said de Toro.
