Geyse Ferreira joins FC Barcelona after her contract expiration with Madrid CFF. She signed a contract until June 2024.
The 24-year-old played for various Brazilian clubs before moving to Europe in 2017, when she joined Madrid CFF for the first time. After one season in Madrid, she spent one season in Portugal with Benfica before re-joining Madrid CFF in 2020. The Brazilian striker scored 20 goals in the recently finished Liga Iberdrola season and was the key player, helping Madrid avoid relegation. Ferreira also has 23 caps for the Brazilian national team. Barcelona squad planning for the next season is in full swing. Arrivals of Lucy Bronze and Nuria Rabano were announced recently.
“Playing against Barça has always been fun, as with other big teams. I’m happy to have shared being the top scorer with Oshoala and also to share a dressing room with her next season. I’m here to help the team achieve its goals,” added Ferreira.
