José Luis Sánchez Vera replace Ángel Villacampa on Levante bench

José Luis Sánchez Vera replace Ángel Villacampa, who left because of personal reason, on Levante bench. The Spanish coach had a year left on his contract.

The 45-year-old took over Levante last summer. Villacampa, who won Liga Iberdrola twice with Atlético Madrid, led the team to the 6th place finish in Liga Iberdrola. In Copa de la Reina, Levante got knocked out in the quarter-finals. On the international stage, Granotas failed to qualify for group stage, losing against later-champions, Lyon.

José Luis Sánchez Vera, best Spanish coach in 2018/19 season, when he led Atletico Madrid to Liga Iberdrola title. In 2020, he returned to Rojablancas bench and managed to secure the Spanish Super Cup win. After failing to qualify to the Women’s Champions League, he left Madrid at the end of the last season.
