Karen Araya returns to Sevilla FC

Karen Araya returns to Sevilla FC, where she had already played for one season, after a spell with a Chilean side, Santiago Morning.

During the 2018/2019 campaign, the 31-year-old made 29 appearances and scored two goals for Sevilla. After that, Araya returned home to Chile, where she spent the last two years with Santiago Morning. With them, she won Chilean championship in 2019 and 2020. An experienced Chilean international midfielder also participated in Tokyo Olympics, where she scored the first ever tournament goal for Chile.

“I am very happy to be back, this is spectacular. It’s a club where I had a great time the season I was here, and I just wanted to return. I come back perhaps with more experience, I’m also working on more leadership things and I think it would be a good contribution in terms of football,” said Araya.
