Opening matchday of Liga F suspended due to referees strike. What should be a new beginning for the Spanish women’s football turned into a big confusion after none of the referees showed up to the games.
After the Spanish top flight turned into a professional league, the referees also want their piece of the cake. Since Spanish federation did not meet their requests, they decided to go on strike for an indefinite period of time. Their decision led to an interesting turn of events since the teams were still obliged to travel to the stadiums and walk out on the pitch. After 30 minutes of waiting and training, the games were suspended.
