María Llompart signs for Villarreal on a free transfer after her contract expiration with SD Eibar. She penned a two-year deal.
The 21-year-old grew up in Barcelona’s academy but switch to city rivals Espanyol, where she debuted on the senior level. After a brief spell with Levante Las Planes, the Spanish midfielder joined SD Eibar in 2020. Since then, Llompart got a fair share of Liga Iberdrola experience, making over 30 appearances in the Spanish top flight. Rocio Garcia, Fatou Kanteh and Lucia Gomez have already joined the club recently.
“It is a unique opportunity to grow as a footballer and also as a person. Villarreal is a club that is committed to women’s football. It has a very promising project,” added Llompart.
