Matilde Fidalgo joins Real Betis from the Portuguese first league, where she played for Benfica. She signed a contract until the end of the next season.
The 27-year-old played in Portugal for Benfica, their city rivals Sporting and SC Braga. The Portuguese international full-back, with 43 caps for the national team, tried herself out also in England. In 2019, she moved to Manchester City but returned to Benfica a year later after only two appearances in the Women’s Super League.
“I’ve felt very welcome, I am anxious to start playing as soon as possible, and I feel like I can bring experience to a young team,” said Fidalgo.
Roosa Ariyo and Rinsola Babjide have already moved to Betis in the current transfer window.
