Mikel Crespo steps down as Deportivo Alaves coach after a poor start into the Liga F season. He has been with Gloriosas for the last three years.
The 31-year-old coach took over Deportivo Alaves in February 2020, succeeding Joseba Basarrate, being previously his assistant. Crespo led the club to the historic promotion to Liga F in the 2020/21 season. In the last season, Gloriosas had an amazing start into the season, when they were even topped the standings for a few weeks. At the end they finished on the 11th position and Crespo got his contract extended in June. In the current season, Deportivo have only one point and sitting on the penultimate place.
Raúl Jaén, Crespo’s assistant, will take charge on the interim basis.
